    What’s New at Community Connections

    Meals Plus

Meals Plus is a complimentary bi-weekly curated grocery delivery.  Each order contains two proteins, fresh fruit and vegetables and starches on rotation. Meals Plus is authorized by a Continuing Care Coordinator and is accompanied with Meal Preparation services from a Continuing Care Assistant.

Community Meals Plus runs twice a year and is open to all residents of Victoria County over the age of 55. The first intake is from January – June and the second intake is from July – December. To register for Community Meals, plus click on “Register Now” or call 902-295-2877. Participants are selected on a first come, first served basis and the number of spaces varies based on available funding.

    Community Cupboard

Our Community Cupboard provides discrete access to food and personal care products to clients and vulnerable members of our community. CCAs and volunteers bring relevant and needed items directly to clients while our partnership with Nova Scotia Provincial Housing Agency allows for our community cupboards in Senior Housing buildings in Victoria County to remain stocked with fresh and shelf stable items as well. VCHSS Community Connections is grateful to local foodbanks and supportive funders for ensuring the continuation of this important service.

    SenSupport Loan Program

The SenSupport Loan program is designed to meet the needs of VCHSS clients and their caregivers by providing free access to innovative tools and the educational support to use them. The pilot program includes access to a curated list of sensory items that can be loaned for an 8-week period. The therapeutic categories include:
